(Insert Boys II Men- It’s so hard to say goodbye, song here)
So here we are… 3 days into the new year and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t bummed 2018 has come and gone. I am still not sure where 2018 went? Anyone with me on this? Everyone one told me that once you have a child, time is a thief and that couldn’t be truer. Personally, I am having a really hard time accepting that this past year is over. In 2018 I found my purpose in life and became a mom. The term “mom”, so simple yet so profound. So while I sit here and sip my basic mom Starbucks coffee and power type this blog while Charlie sleeps I want to share a few highlights of this so-called, “Best year of my life” with you all. Oh and don’t panic I won’t just cling onto the past here, I will also round up this post by sharing my personal goals for 2019 and have a fun little blogger challenge I’d like you all to join me on.
Since we are mainly all Instagramers and share our journey through tiny square pictures, it only makes sense that I share a glimpse of 2018 the same way. In order not to overwhelm you with a shit load of photos, I have chosen one photo from each month of the past year to highlight. (Hint: This is a little foreshadowing of what’s to come at the end of this blog, and don’t be a turd and skip ahead). Ready for a little photo vomit? Here you go…
January
My best friend Alie, party planner extraordinaire, threw Jacob and I the most beautiful shower.
February
40 weeks pregs and still slamming regular coffee (this may be why Char is wild).
March
Also, I know I said I was only going to post one photo per month, but March was extra special and these never shared photo’s needed to be unveiled.
April
“Morning Sunshine” photo reposted by @spearmintbaby and ultimately the start of my mom blog.
May
Tiny Charski’s. What’s sad is that it is hard for me to remember her this little.
June
Jacob may kill me for this but he doesn’t read my blog. These are the moments I dreamed of having.
July
Charlies 1st vacation- Palm Springs, CA.
August
Started to crawl- 5 1/2 Months old
September
Fan girled so hard when I ran into Bree (@gogetyourhappyon)
in real life.
October
Baby wearing advocate for life! This sling is my most cherished and is a must-have mom item.
November
1st Thanksgiving- San Clemente, CA
December
Part of clinching onto the end of the year, I am breaking the rules again and over posting.
Do your eyes hurt yet from all the photos? Mine
So 2018, to end the year my theme song to you is, “Don’t you forget about me” Breakfast club style.
Lets (finally) get into 2019, after-all we are 4 days into it already.
What is in store for 2019…
I personally am not a fan of making resolutions, instead, I like to phrase it as goal setting. Starting this year off the word, “Simplify” is going to be the driving force behind my goals. I easily get overwhelmed by clutter and my postpartum anxiety takes over and some day’s it can be debilitating. In an effort to be a healthier human so I can be a better mom, my main focus goals this year are;
- Self-love/ Self-care
- Be more present
in the moment - GET MARRIED
- Blog, blog and more blog
- Drink more water and less coffee (not sure how realistic this one is, but hey it’s worth a shot)
- Let go on thing’s out of my control
I find that a huge part of becoming successful in accomplishing our goals is to share them with others and hold each other accountable by checking in with one another. No, I am not trying to get your number and force you to be my BFF, but I am encouraging you to set your own goals and reach out if you want help staying on track.
Concluding this never-ending post, I do want to thank you for suffering through it and let you know the good news… The good news is you made it to the fun part. Did you really think I would leave you hanging? My pride won’t let me do that to you.
FUN THIS WAY
2019 Mom- Blogger Challenge
Are you a Mom blogger looking to grow your blog and publish more content/post? Do you let time get away from you and not invest time writing a blog post? If you are like me, the answer is probably yes to both of these questions, so let’s change that together! As part of documenting our journey in motherhood, I thought it would be fun to do a blog series for 2019 with all of you, yes you! Here is the breakdown, at the beginning of each month we will each publish a post, (the topic of your choice or topic of my choice, it’s up to you) and collectively we can share each other’s content with our followers. This will help us follow our goals, hold ourselves accountable, get to know each other a little better, grow our following, invest in our blogs and most importantly, it will be fun. Who’s with me? If you are, send me an e-mail to Bonniestone00@gmail.com, DM me on the gram, whatever works for you and let’s make this happen!
The way it works:
At the end of each
TAG me @haveakidtheysaid in your stories or post, when you publish and I will share your post with others and support you!
